My heart is heavy tonight as I learn of the death of my former co-worker and friend, Charlie Fraley. We met as recruits at the Virginia State Police Academy in 1959. We later worked together at the State Police office in Appomattox.

The things I remember the most about Charlie, was that first he loved his family so very much. He was a no-nonsense worker and desired to treat fellow workers and the public with fairness.

I am so glad that I crossed paths with Charlie Fraley in my life journey.

Fraley family,
There are no words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. My heart is broken for each of you. Pappy was like the grandpa I never had, and he will always hold a special place in my heart, right along with Nannie. Thank you for sharing him all these years. I will be thinking of and praying for you all!

I'm so sorry to hear of Captain Fraley's passing. I worked with him for a few years while he was stationed in Salem. He was always very nice to work with. Also, sorry to see that your sweet mother has passed away as well. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

To Charles' Family,

I met Charlie on the tennis court when I was called to be a sub. I last talked to Charlie a few weeks ago when he called me to sub for him.

I had a small amount of time with him but I recognized he was a man of solid character & warmth & full of smiles & a great tennis player.

It was my privilege to have known Charlie for a brief time.

May God's Peace be your peace during this time of mourning the loss of your Loved One.
