Elma Maude Mannon Hale, 97 of Narrows, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 27th, 2016.

She was born in Radford on March 25th, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Early and Isabelle Altizer Mannon. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Garland Kenner Hale; four sisters, Helen Grayble, Louise Mannon, Margaret Elkins, Claudine Tice; two brothers, Lacy Mannon and Robert Mannon.

A longtime faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Narrows, where she worked tirelessly with her husband for many years, making hot dogs and fried pies to help enable the construction of the current facility. She loved being a caregiver for children of several families in Narrows, including her own. Elma cherished her wonderful neighbors. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Elma Jane Hale Maggard and husband Kenneth of Baltimore, Maryland; a son, Robert K. Hale and wife Lucinda of Narrows; five grandchildren, Anthony Maggard and wife Colleen, Gregory Maggard and wife Gail, Mary Hale, Kelly Hale Rice, Nora Hale; four great-grandchildren, Tamara Maggard, Samantha McRorie and husband Aaron, Arianna Bradley and husband Jake, Kortney Maggard; two sisters, Edith Harless and Elizabeth Mannon, both of Radford; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 30th, 2016 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows. Entombment will follow in Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service Sunday from 1 PM until just prior to the service.
