Harold C. Richardson, 91 of Narrows, left this world to join the love of his life on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017.

He was born in Narrows on June 24th, 1925, and was the son of the late John Ira and Leoma Tolbert Richardson. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jo Richardson; five brothers, Emmett Richardson, Bernard Richardson, Powell Richardson, Pete Richardson, Don Richardson; and four sisters, Willie Reinhart, Clarice Brooks, Lucille Dennis, and Mary Alice Rumburg.

A proud United States Marine, Harold served in World War II. He was also a longtime faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Narrows, and served as Past Grand Master of Intermont Lodge #269 in Narrows. Harold also worked with the groups of college students who worked in Narrows during their spring breaks, assisted in the design, hanging, and maintenance of the Christmas snowflakes in Narrows for many years. A loving husband, father, brother and humanitarian, he was always there for his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tanya Richardson of Glen Allen, Virginia; four brothers, Guy Richardson and wife Sarah of Richmond, Virginia, Dave Richardson and wife Audrey of Michigan, Doug Richardson and wife Melissa of Narrows, Paul Richardson and wife Paula of Springfield, Virginia; two sisters, Nina Derby and husband Bill of Hampton, Virginia, and Linda Smith of Carrolton, Virginia; many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church in Narrows with Rev. Doug Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Posts #68 of Narrows, #311 of Pembroke and #145 of Peterstown. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows Friday from 6 to 8 PM. The family requests that those sending memorial contributions, please consider First United Methodist Church; P.O. Box 398; Narrows, Virginia 24124, to be earmarked for the Memorial Fund, or to the charity of your choice.
