Kenneth Cecil (Kenny) Hale, 76 of Narrows, passed from this life peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, November 24th, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Cecil Hale; and his mother, Dorothy Johnson Hale.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Anne Hale; a son, Paul Cecil Hale of Narrows; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Maurice Swain of Craig County; beloved grandchildren, Paula Hale of Blacksburg, and Kenneth Taylor Swain of Craig County.

A lifelong resident of Giles County, Kenny had two loves in his life: his family, and his job as a livestock dealer and farmer. Combining both of these by teaching his grandson and namesake his trade, he would say was one of his greatest accomplishments. Kenny always had a story to tell, and a generous heart to all that knew him. In the words of Gus from "Lonesome Dove," "It was quite the party." He will be greatly missed by many.

The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows Sunday, November 27th, 2016 from 2 to 4 PM and again from 6 to 8 PM. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 28th at 10:30 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to Jefferson Christian Academy; 219 Big Stony Creek Road; Ripplemead, Virginia 24150.

The family is being served by Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
