Heaven gained another angel, as Lucy Madeline Brogan Lambert, 89 of Pearisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 24th, 2017 at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek.

She was born in Peterstown, West Virginia on July 18th, 1927, and was the daughter of the late John Earl Brogan, Sr., and Emma Alberta Davis Brogan. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ezra Howard Lambert; a son, Robert Wayne Lambert; a daughter, Lucy Elizabeth Lambert; a brother, James Earl Brogan; and a sister, Mary Evangeline Tankersley.

Lucy loved country music. She and her brothers and sisters played music and sang together when they were younger. Lucy also loved and cherish her cats and dogs. Word search puzzles were her favorite pastime, but more importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family. Lucy was also a former employee of Radford Army Ammunition Plant and Celanese Acetate.

Left to cherish her memory are three children, James Howard Lambert and wife Betty of Christiansburg, Brenda Lambert Whittaker and husband Myron of Pearisburg, and Virgil William Lambert and Kathy of Pearisburg; six grandchildren, Amy Suzanne Lambert of Saratoga, California, Thomas William Lambert and wife Jessica of St. Augustine, Florida, and Tammy Whittaker Shrewsberry and husband Anthony of Pearisburg, Robert Wayne Lambert, Jr. of Bland, Lucy Mae Lambert of Radford, and Sandra Gail Hoover of Radford; nine great-grandchildren, Austin Lee Shrewsberry, Katie Carolyn Shrewsberry, Kara Marie Lambert, Kadence Elizabeth Lambert, James Lambert, Trish Grogan, Donna Hall, Brandon Walters, and Destiny Robins; a brother, Rabon Brogan and wife Jane of Roanoke; two sisters, Ida Jean Staton of Radford, and Shelby Jean Vaught and husband Bill of Rich Creek; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28th, 2017 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows with Charles Henderson and Kenneth Abrams officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in the Wolf Creek community near Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
