Russell Lowell Deeds, 87, died peacefully Monday, July 18th, 2016 in Southaven, Mississippi.

He was born on June 16th, 1929 in Richwood, West Virginia, the only child of the late Russie and Pauline Caines Deeds. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jean Broyles Deeds.

Lowell moved to Pearisburg, Virginia at the age of 12, graduating from Pearisburg High School in 1946. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows for 67 years. During those years, he served as deacon, church treasurer, on the financial committee, permanent fund committee and in the Christian Men's Fellowship. He and his wife, Jean were co-owners of the B&B Stores in Narrows and Pearisburg. Lowell grew up working in the B&B Stores, first working with his father and uncle, then eventually becoming manager, and then owner. The B&B Store was a wonderful part of the Deeds family life. He was a member of both the Narrows and Pearisburg Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Lions Club for many years. Lowell was a member of the Giles Country Club for many years where enjoyed many rounds of golf with his friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Pamela Booth (Phillip), Patricia Thompson (Phillip), all of Southaven, Mississippi, Sheri Bush (Jim) of Newton, New Hampshire, and Dawn Coleman (Brian) of Denver, Colorado. Known as "Pawpaw," he will be greatly missed by his nine grandchildren, Eric Thompson of Dickson, Tennessee, Ryan Booth of Wheaton, Illinois, Natasha Thompson Parlier of Boomer, North Carolina, Melissa Booth Bitsky of Plainfield, Illinois, Lori Booth Mayer of Frisco, Texas, Dori and James Bush of Newton, New Hampshire, and Owen and Grace Coleman of Denver, Colorado; and thirteen great-grandchildren who affectionately called him "Papa D."

As an only child, he was happy to become a member of the large Broyles family. By marrying Jean, he was blessed with two brothers, six sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Lowell loved his church, his family and the beautiful mountains that surrounded his home.
