Jewel Maxine Candler, 74 of Princeton passed away Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She was born in Narrows, Virginia on June 2nd, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Allen David and Ruth Duncan Pruett. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Claybourn, her daughter, Bonnie Spurling, and granddaughter Amber Babcock.
Maxine's beautiful smile will be missed by all the people who were blessed to know her. She was a member of Kellysville Church of God in Kellysville, West Virginia.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Forrest Candler of Princeton; her children, Barbara Scott and husband Mike of Dallas, North Carolina, Carl Hare, Jr. of Pearisburg, Bill Hare and wife Leslie of Charlotte, Ruthie Connell and husband Larry of Newark, Ohio, Dan Hare and wife Dee of Stanley, North Carolina, David Hare and wife Nuria of Dallas, North Carolina, Tina Graham and husband John of Egeria, West Virginia; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois Balarzs of Narrows and Joyce St. Clair of Pembroke, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23rd, 2008 at 1 PM at Kellysville Church of God with Pastor Franklin Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.
